THE VILLA

Villa Lupini used to be an old farmhouse that was build in 1649. On the ground floor we have a good sized kitchen/dining room with a wood-burning oven, a separate utility room on the ground floor plus a wine-making room (out of bounds!).
On the first floor is the main sitting room with a wood-burning stove, a balcony, a large TV, etc.  There is a little cloakroom in the lobby outside of which is an old wooden grain storage chest. Also on the first floor, with its own door to the exterior, one can create a seperate apartment. There are double and twin bedrooms plus a bathroom and a kitchen/kids playroom room with TV and playstation. It comes in useful when two families holiday together, or when the kids want to enjoy a degree of independence.
Above, on the second floor, a cavernous double bedroom with a wood-burner, a splendid bathroom and another twin bedroom.

We have fully restored the house, keeping its original charm, whilst making it as comfortable and up-to-date as necessary. There is  internet connection and wi-fi throughout the house and it extends to the pool outside.
We hope you have better things to do on your holiday, but, if you need them, there are washing and ironing facilities in the utility room downstairs.
We regret that the house is not really suitable for wheelchair users.

THE GARDEN AND POOL

The large pool (13 x 4.5m) is an infinity type pool with a cascade over the infinity edge. There is a shallow area next to the steps so that children are easily supervised. It is not heated, but in full sun for most of the day.

The poolside area has a shower, sunbeds and parasols.
A pool robot and cleaning tools are provided to fish out leaves and the occasional toadlet that forgot he couldn't swim.

The garden has various places to relax, wine and dine. The  terraces are full fruits and nuts, including grapes, apples, pears, cherries, figs, persimmons and walnuts. You are welcome to pick and eat any fruit that may be ripe.

By the house, under the shade of a walnut tree, is a sitting-out area with table and chairs for eating. It is beside the forno (outside oven) which you are welcome to use. There is also a much easier charcoal barbecue and BBQ beginners may find the gas BBQ easier still.

There is an occasional family of (very shy) deer, rabbits, a pair of reclusive crested porcupines, bats, toads and harmless grass-snakes, but they are all very fearful and you are unlikely to actually see anything wilder than the fireflies (spectacularly active in June!).
